Sat 1st XI
Captain :
Ilija Krunic
Internaional Man of Mystery
aka The Serbian Playboy
Ilija is going to rewrite his profile so watch this space!
_______________________________________________________________________
From his Strollers profile...
"The tallest human-being in London, ladies' man Illie has taken Strollers cricket to new heights with his fiery pace bowling and cavalier batting.
The man single-handedly responsible for making the bouffant fashionable again, Illie lives life in the fast lane on a diet of bucks fizz, fast cars and rice pudding. Despite adapting well to the London social scene, his heart remains in Serbia and he was devastated by S and M's 6-0 defeat to Argentina in the World Cup. 'Six lucky goals' was his considered analysis of the match.
Vice Captain :
Puneet Kapoor
Locked in stiff competition with Ilja Krunic for the title of RVCC's best batsman and lothario. Lover of the "juicy full toss" and all things big and Eastern European.
Players
Akbar Ansari
The man known as "Wild Thing" due to his demon left arm fast action. (and also because of his attiude to showering) Wins games and the hearts of women due to wicket taking and a keen eye for a lady who has drunk too much... Symbol of sex... Force Of Nature.... 'Wild thing... I think I love you...'
[ed - is this Aki?]
Faisal Ansari
Affectionately known as Mr Chairman but it is rumoured he prefers El Presidente. Demonstrates a disturbing amount of love for his new blue bat and his RVCC baggy green. Is a strict disciplinarian, intent on keeping the younger pups in line but he has been known to be swayed by a good licking..
Paul Bailey
Right Hand Bat - extremely swift at running three's!! Very reluctant "buffet" bowler = when in possession of a full head of hair I did actually get 4 for 4 against Ruislip 1st's on the top pitch... but no one believes me!!
Carl Clarke
A member of the ECB and a Qualified Middlesex Level 2 Coach. Carl is currently the Manager and Coach of Middlesex Under-14 team (North Area). He has the distinguished credentials of coaching players who have gone on to play in Middlesex County League. He also monitors clubs throughout the Middlesex area and is responsible for the selection of players from all Colts games.
With over 10 years of experience and having coached the Grenada Under-15 team in 2005, RVCC is proud of having Carl play for the club. If you want to witness Carl's powers, come and watch him play for RVCC 1st XI where his mesmerising pull shots and lethal out-swingers may well turn the match into a cricket festival!
Sydney Combrinck
New member for 2008. South African demon bowler and a social one to boot.
Ian Freeland
Our very own Zimbabwean is a man of many talents but we are not sure if any of them are cricket related!
Ravi Gilbert
Pablo Julien
Bob Khan
Sohail's better looking brother! Not as good as his son. But still a fine bat. Bob's technique is not in doubt, however the propensity for his arms and legs to fall off can be a problem. Is only contactable on match days, as he spends the rest of the week either in cryo-stasis or being rebuilt by the worlds most prominent Dr's.
